ADIEU TO EMMANUEL LEVINAS

With straightforward emotions, Jacques Derrida's eulogy for the philosopher Emmanuel Levinas rises once again the call for responsibility towards the Other, as the core value in the life of man. Today, here and now, a man steps out and speaks up, in high voice and in public, this eulogy so that we, us all, receive comfort for the soul and moral strength from the speech towards an-other man, which is at the same time (also) a speech dedicated to the Other.

A brief performance-vocalization for the opening night of the DESTE Prize 2013, in response to the Selection Committee's request "to Nova Melancholia, which is distinguished for its multilayered and hybrid language, to present a special performance during the exhibition".
